ST. LOUIS, April 28 (UPI) -- A beer tent set up near St. Louis' Busch Stadium was toppled by strong winds Saturday, leaving one man dead and about 100 other people hurt, officials said.

The man who died suffered a fatal heart attack while under the tent, which was set up next to Kilroy's Sports Bar, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. At least 17 people were hospitalized, four in critical condition, and the rest were treated at the scene, the newspaper said.

"I thought a train fell off the track," Art Randall, owner of Kilroy's, told the Post-Dispatch. "We all ducked for cover. Everything was going sideways. I had metal chairs ripping across the beer garden."

The incident occurred about 3:50 p.m. as storms moving through the area generated winds estimated at 50 mph or higher, about an hour after the St. Louis Cardinals game ended.
