LAS VEGAS, April 28 (UPI) -- A 22-year-old man was in custody Saturday in a hammer attack in Las Vegas that left a mother and daughter dead and the husband and father injured, police said.
Bryan Clay was arrested Friday as a suspect in the deaths of Ignacia Martinez, 38, and her daughter Karla Martinez, 10, whose bodies were found in their home April 16, the Las Vegas Sun reported. He was initially charged on a felony child abuse warrant and additional charges were expected to be filed, police said.
Arturo Martinez, the husband and father of the victims, was critically injured and remained hospitalized, the newspaper said.
The victims were found after the couple's 9-year-old son went to school and reported the attack. Police said another small child was found in the home unharmed.
Clay also is suspected in an April 15 sexual assault against a 50-year-old woman, police said.
