'Toxic tush' suspect pleads not guilty

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 6 (UPI) -- A transgender Florida woman accused of injecting a toxic blend into women's buttocks pleaded not guilty to a charge of practicing medicine without a license.

Oneal Morris, 31, notified a Broward County judge of her plea Thursday, the Fort Lauderdale South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

Morris, 31, was charged in Broward with three counts of practicing medicine without a license. Prosecutors said she injected "patients" with a dangerous mix that included mineral oil, rubber cement, Fix-a-Flat and caulk.

Her arrest was the latest in what has been called the "toxic tush" case.

She has denied the allegations.

Morris was arrested on similar charges in Miami-Dade County. Morris pleaded not guilty to charges of practicing medicine without a license there as well.

Police said they suspect Morris is part of an underground network of scam artists who have been preying on women who want to change their appearances but lack the money for traditional cosmetic surgery, the newspaper said.
