Woman saves grandchild from tornado

FORNEY, Texas, April 4 (UPI) -- A Texas woman explained how she saved three children she was babysitting from a tornado, holding the feet of her grandson as he was being drawn into its vortex.

Sherry Enochs told ABC News she piled the three, including her 18-month-old grandson Lane, into a bathtub in her daughter's home in Forney, Texas, among the hardest-hit communities in Tuesday's tornado incident.

"I saw it coming across the fields and I was on the phone with my daughter, and she told me, 'Mom you probably need to go take cover.' So I grabbed them up in a comforter and got them in the bathtub and just sat there until it got over," she said.

She described hanging onto Lane's feet as a "gush of wind came through and I just feel like it was taking him."

Her daughter, Lindsay Enochs, told ABC, "The wind kept taking him, but she held on to him. And he's fine, he's here."

Except for being covered in mud, the grandmother said there were no injuries.
