CHICAGO, March 26 (UPI) -- A Chicago man was charged with child endangerment for allegedly throwing his 13-month-old son during an argument with officers, police said.
Ahmad Boyd, 22, was charged with child endangerment, traffic obstruction and resisting a peace officer, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Police said Boyd was was with a large group Sunday, standing in the street and sitting on cars in the Austin neighborhood on the city's West Side.
As police approached in their squad car, they saw Boyd holding a 13-month-old boy while sitting on the trunk of his car.
When police asked him to move to the sidewalk for the child's safety, Boyd allegedly refused and threw the baby into "mid air" to someone he didn't know, the police report said. He then ran off.
Police chased Boyd and subdued him with a Taser, police said.
