Chicago shootings leave 7 dead, 33 hurt

CHICAGO, March 18 (UPI) -- Gunfire took a deadly toll in Chicago this weekend, with police saying at least seven people were killed and at least 33 others were wounded.

Among the dead was a 6-year-old girl fatally wounded Saturday afternoon while playing on the front porch of her Southwest Side home, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Two teenagers were arrested in the death of the girl, identified as Aliyah Shell, Chicago's WLS-TV reported. Police said Juan Barraza, 18, and a 16-year-old boy were charged with murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm Sunday.
