Carlos Slim Helu world's richest man

NEW YORK, March 8 (UPI) -- Carlos Slim Helu of Mexico is the world's richest man for the third year in the row with $69 billion, Forbes magazine said Thursday.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is in second place and Berkshire Hathaway Chairman Warren Buffett took third, with $61 billion and $44 billion respectively, on Forbes' annual ranking of the world's wealthiest

With $41 billion, LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault of France ranks in fourth place, making him the world's richest fashion billionaire. Amancio Ortega of Spain, whose holdings include ready-to-wear women's clothing chain Zara, was fifth with $37.5 billion.

Oracle's Larry Ellison was sixth with $36 billion, Brazilian tycoon Elke Batista was seventh with $30 billion and Swedish H&M mogul Stefan Persson was eighth with $26 billion.

Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing is worth $25.5 billion, putting him in ninth place, and Aldi magnate Karl Albrecht rounded out the Top 10 with $25.4 billion.
