WASHINGTON, March 6 (UPI) -- U.S. President Obama told a news conference Tuesday he wants to get gas prices down, but it will take an array of measures.

They include conservation and clean energy, he said, among other things.

"I want to get gas prices lower because that hurts families … it's not good for the overall economy … and we're in the midst of a recovery that's starting to build up steam" and could be sidetracked by high prices at the pump.

As he said in earlier comments, Obama told reporters, "There is no silver bullet" that will solve the energy problem.
