Man who killed family gets life sentence

WELLINGTON, Fla., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Neal Jacobson, who confessed to killing his wife and twin sons in their Wellington, Fla., home in January 2010, will serve three life sentences in prison.

Spared the death sentence, Jacobson, 51, accepted a plea deal imposing three consecutive life sentences. His defense team planned to pursue an insanity defense, blaming the killing spree on the side effects of anti-depressants.

At the time of his arrest, Jacobson told investigators he "just snapped," after pointing them to his home where they found the bodies of his wife, Franki Jacobson, and their twin sons.

As a part of the deal, Jacobson's sisters-in-law must be able to come visit him in prison twice a year to tell him about God, The Palm Beach Post reported.
