FREEMONT, Calif., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Police said they arrested a Hells Angel accused of killing a fellow member at the funeral for the slain leader of the biker gang's San Jose, Calif., chapter.

Steve Ruiz, 38, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Saturday at a Days Inn in Fremont. Sgt. Jason Dwyer declined to tell the San Jose Mercury News how the police learned of Ruiz's whereabouts or other details of his arrest.

Ruiz is suspected in the slaying of Steve Tausan at the October funeral of San Jose Hells Angel President Jeff "Jethro" Pettigrew. Ruiz allegedly gunned down Tausan at the service, in the midst of heavy police presence, and then fled.

A motive for the killing has yet to be made public.
