FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- A Texas woman had sex with an inmate when she was a correctional officer at the federal prison in Fort Worth, an indictment alleges.
Michele L. O'Neal was charged with one count of sexual abuse in the indictment handed up Feb. 15, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Tuesday.
The incident allegedly occurred May 28 with an inmate identified only by the initials "D.E." at the Fort Worth Federal Correctional Institution.
O'Neal worked at the low-security prison from September 2009 until this past June, a Bureau of Prisons spokesman said. It wasn't known why she left her job and she could not be reached for comment, the newspaper said.
The Star-Telegram said in December, a former correctional officer at Federal Medical Center Carswell was indicted on a federal count of sexual abuse of a ward for allegedly committing a sexual act with a female inmate.
