ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Jose Baez, who defended Casey Anthony in the high-profile murder trial for the death of her toddler daughter, officially withdrew as the mother's attorney.

Baez's notice of withdrawal was filed Tuesday, weeks after his relationship with Anthony was reported to be deteriorating, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Baez represented Anthony, 25, who was acquitted in July of the major charges in the 2008 death of her daughter, 2-year-old Caylee Marie.

Anthony is serving probation for a check fraud conviction and is appealing her convictions of lying to law enforcement in the disappearance of her daughter.

Baez still faces two Florida Bar complaints arising from the Anthony case.
