NEW BEDFORD, Mass., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank says he will marry his longtime partner Jim Ready this summer.

"We're getting married in Massachusetts this summer," he told the Boston Herald, showing off his new engagement ring.

Frank and Ready have been together since 2007.

"Jimmy is a … he's a handy man … some welding … so he picked this out," he told reporters while campaigning for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren in New Bedford.

Frank has otherwise been quiet about wedding details: "I supposed given my job it's inevitable, but it's a personal thing. We're happy to be getting married."
