Vigil held for missing Maine girl

WATERVILLE, Maine, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- A vigil was held for missing Maine toddler Ayla Reynolds Saturday, the same day police confirmed blood was found in her Waterville home.

WCVB-TV, Boston, said Ayla's mother Trista Reynolds, who attended the "Bubbles and Balloons for Ayla" event with 22-month-old child's father Justin DiPietro, learned of the new evidence while at the vigil.

"I'm ready to go knocking at people's doors myself because I want to know what happened to my daughter," Trista Reynolds said. "I want to know where she is and who took her."

DiPietro, who has told investigators he believed his daughter was abducted from her bedroom, said he was at the event "to show my support for the community that is supporting Ayla."

The child has been missing since Dec. 17.
