$71 million jackpot ticket sold in Atlanta

Jan. 25, 2012 at 1:49 PM

ATLANTA, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- A winning ticket for the $71 million Mega Million lottery jackpot was bought at an Atlanta-area convenience store, Georgia officials said.

The holder of the winning ticket from the Tuesday night drawing, bought at the Chevron Food Mart on Atlanta's Buffington Road, had not come forward. The winning numbers were 10, 22, 24, 36 and 49 with a mega ball of 33.

Lottery officials said 10 people had the first five numbers, but not the mega ball, winning a cool quarter-million bucks, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday.

The Mega Millions jackpot reset to $12 million.
