Police search for headless body

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Los Angeles police said Wednesday they would keep looking for body parts near the spot in the Hollywood Hills where a human head was found.

Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that the head, hidden in a plastic bag, appeared to be that of an Armenian male in his 40s.

Coroner's investigators hoped to identify the victim through dental records.

The head was discovered Tuesday afternoon by two people walking dogs just below the Hollywood sign near Canyon Drive.

Police Sgt. Mitzi Fierro said two of the dogs started playing with an object in the bag that turned out to be a human head.

The head did not appear to have been in that location for long, police said.
