The assaults at Garfield High School in East Los Angeles were made between 2005 and 2007 against two developmentally disabled girls, ages 16 and 17, one of them confined to a wheelchair.

Deputy District Attorney Rachel Moser Greene said the charges included oral copulation of an incompetent person, oral copulation of a person under 18 and sexual battery by restraint.

Prosecutors said Santos assaulted his victims in a school elevator, keeping it moving between floors while he committed the crimes.
