Santorum's post-Senate income increases

WASHINGTON, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum's post-U.S. Senate income has risen, mainly as a Fox News contributor and as an adviser, financial forms show.

His most recent financial disclosure form indicated Santorum earned $1.3 million in 2010 and the first half of 2011, The Washington Post reported Thursday.

The biggest lump of his employment earnings -- $332,000 -- was from his work as advising industry and lobby firms, including $142,500 to help advise Consol Energy and $65,000 for consulting with the lobbying firm American Continental Group and its insurance services client, the form showed.

Santorum also received $239,000 as a contributor on Fox News, and $217,000 as a senior fellow at the conservative Ethics and Public Policy Center, the Post said. He also got $83,999 as a talk show host for Salem Radio, based in Camarillo, Calif.

Santorum also earned $395,414 in director's fees and stock options from his membership on the board of Universal Health Services, where he was appointed after he lost his re-election bid to Democratic challenger Bob Casey.
