WASHINGTON, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- A majority of U.S. voters said the Occupy protesters are a public nuisance, not a valid protest movement, a Rasmussen Report poll released Thursday indicated.

Fifty-one percent of likely U.S. voters said they've had enough of the protesters while 39 percent said they thought the movement was a valid representation of the frustrations of most Americas, results showed.

The national telephone survey also indicated 24 percent of voters said they think the Occupy Wall Street protesters who first began their demonstrations in October got their message through to the American people. Fifty-three percent said they haven't gotten their message out and 24 percent said they weren't sure.

Results are based on a national telephone survey of 1,000 likely voters conducted Monday and Tuesday. The margin of error is 3 percentage points.
