KATY, Texas, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Police in a Houston suburb said they were investigating after a woman found her husband dead, two of her children tied up and a family vehicle missing.
Harris County Sheriff's deputies said the woman returned from work to her Katy, Texas, home about 10 p.m. Tuesday and found her husband, Russell Lopez, 31, dead inside a bedroom and two of her children tied up in another bedroom, KHOU-TV, Houston, reported.
The children, both under 10, were not injured, nor was a 6-month-old baby in the house, police said.
Lopez had multiple cuts on his body, possibly from a blunt object, detectives said.
The sheriff's office said in a statement Lopez had died from "unknown trauma" and no motive had been determined, the Katy Times reported.
The woman reported the victim's 2007 Chevy Tahoe with Texas license plate 03SHS6 was missing.
