OLD LYME, Conn., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- One person was killed Wednesday after being hit by an Amtrak passenger train in Old Lyme, Conn., a spokesman for the rail service said.
The identity of the victim, described by Amtrak as a "trespasser," had not been released.

The 3:30 p.m. collision interrupted all rail traffic on the line between Boston and New Haven, Conn., while authorities investigated. Just after 6:30 p.m., Amtrak said service on the line had been restored but residual delays were expected.
No injuries were reported among the 315 passengers or crew members aboard the train.
