On Friday, Khan called and sent text messages relatives, telling them she had slapped the stranger who was bothering her and appeared to be intoxicated.

Shortly afterward, her sister arrived to pick her up and found only her book bag and cellphone, The Kansas City Star reported.

"We need everybody to be thinking about Aisha all of the time," said Adil Sheikh, her uncle.

Dozens of volunteers searched the city along with about 30 police officers. About 15,000 flyers were printed and distributed around campus.

Khan is 5 feet 2 inches and weighs about 120 pounds, with dark brown hair and brown eyes. When she was last seen, she was wearing a black and yellow shirt, black sweat pants and a black headscarf. She also may have been wearing eyeglasses.
