LONG BEACH, Calif., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- A 26-year-old woman died after falling from a walkway of the Queen Mary docked in Long Beach Harbor, a California fire department spokesman said.

Steve Yamamoto of the Long Beach Fire Department said the woman fell 75 feet into frigid waters and a 40-year-old man attempted to rescue her, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of hypothermia.

Yamamoto said two Long Beach police officers who jumped into the water to help with the rescue were not injured.

Circumstances surrounding the woman's fall and other details were not immediately released.
