AMHERST, N.Y., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- A New York school district has ended its investigation into the suicide of a high school student who was bullied over his sexual orientation, officials said.
Jamey Rodemeyer killed himself Sept. 18 after complaining in online videos and blog posts about being bullied by fellow students at North High School in Amherst, the Buffalo (N.Y.) News reported.
He also blogged about experiencing a variety of personal problems outside of school in the weeks leading up to his death.
Superintendent Scott Martzloff of Williamsville Central School District declined to say how many students were suspended as a result of the district's investigation.
However he indicated the suspensions were short-term.
Police Chief John C. Askey of Amherst said earlier that the department's investigation turned up five incidents of alleged bullying involving Rodemeyer but no charges were filed.
