Tropical storm likely to become hurricane

MIAMI, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Tropical Storm Kenneth was quickly gaining strength in the Pacific and expected to become a hurricane Monday, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said.

Kenneth, with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph, was about 740 miles south of the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico, and moving west at 14 mph, the center said in its 4 a.m. EST advisory.

No coastal watches or warnings were in effect.
