BEDFORD PARK, Ill., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- A former FedEx employee ran into the company's Bedford Park facility in Illinois Thursday, opened fire at workers then killed himself, police said.
Witnesses said they saw the man, whose name had not been released, enter the building just before 8 a.m., jump into a vehicle and open fire, the Chicago Tribune reported. No one was injured in the shooting and about 9 a.m., the man shot and killed himself.
Michael Shannon, 25, said he was loading his truck when the man entered the vehicle and pointed the gun at him.
"I said, 'Don't shoot, don't shoot. Tell me what you want, I'll give you what you want,'" Shannon told the Tribune.
The man demanded the keys to the vehicle and told Shannon to leave.
"My life was in his hands," Shannon said. "I really thought he was going to shoot me. It was the most terrible moment in my life."
Police say the shooting was a domestic situation and one source said the man had been "involved" with a woman who worked for FedEx.
