REDMOND, Wash., Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Police said they were searching a park near Seattle Sunday for signs of missing toddler Sky Metalwala.
The search for the 2-year-old who was allegedly snatched from his mother's disabled car earlier this month was expanded Sunday to Marymoor Park in Redmond, which is not far from the boy's home.
Bellevue Police Maj. Mike Johnson said there were no tips or other information leading them to the park, which covers 640 acres and includes rivers and wooded trails.
The Bellevue Reporter said the search included participants on horseback and dog handlers and divers. The park remained open to the public except for a parking lot that served as a command post.
Police were also taking another look at the area where Sky's mother, Julia Biryukova, said she left her sleeping son in her car after it ran out of gas. She and her 4-year-old daughter walked to a service station, but she said Sky was gone when they returned to the vehicle.
Investigators have concluded the car was not out of gas at the time Sky disappeared and found it to be in working order.
Police, however, were not calling Biryukova a suspect in a crime this weekend, ABC News said.
"I'll let the evidence speak to itself, which is there was gas in the car and was able to drive and operate," Johnson said. "That's not what Julia told us."
