With kids on bus, driver arrested for DUI

WESTAMPTON, N.J., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Westampton, N.J., police said they arrested a woman who allegedly drove a school bus full of children while intoxicated.

Children on the bus Monday called their parents and told them their bus driver, Carole Crockett, 46, was swerving and falling asleep behind the wheel, WCAU-TV, Philadelphia, reported. The parents called Westampton Middle School who alerted police.

Police found the bus at Holly Hills School, where Crockett was attempting to pick up more children.

Crockett had a blood-alcohol level of .25 percent, police say. New Jersey's legal limit is .08. She is charged with driving under the influence with a commercial vehicle, endangering the welfare of 25 children, disorderly conduct and other related offenses.

Crockett is due in court Nov. 17.
