Children on the bus Monday called their parents and told them their bus driver, Carole Crockett, 46, was swerving and falling asleep behind the wheel, WCAU-TV, Philadelphia, reported. The parents called Westampton Middle School who alerted police.

Police found the bus at Holly Hills School, where Crockett was attempting to pick up more children.

Crockett had a blood-alcohol level of .25 percent, police say. New Jersey's legal limit is .08. She is charged with driving under the influence with a commercial vehicle, endangering the welfare of 25 children, disorderly conduct and other related offenses.

Crockett is due in court Nov. 17.
