CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- A Michigan judge ordered a man to stand trial for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl who says the man impregnated her.

On Wednesday, the girl, whose name has not been released, testified in a probable cause hearing that Trevaun Cortez Brooks, 28, sexually assaulted her at least three times, The Detroit News reported.

The girl testified Brooks sexually assaulted her on at least two occasions and had intercourse with her once when she was 11 years old. All three incidents happened in the home she and her mother shared with Brooks while her mother was not home.

She also testified she did not know she was pregnant until she gave birth in August. After she gave birth, she told her mother Brooks was the father.

After hearing the girl's testimony, Judge Linda Davis ordered Brooks stand trial for on first-degree criminal sexual conduction and two second-degree criminal sexual charges.

Brooks, who is to be back in court Nov. 21, did not speak during the hearing.

"My client is very concerned," said the man's attorney, Chris Aiello, after the hearing. "He's distraught."
