Another earthquake hits Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- A 3.2 magnitude earthquake hit Oklahoma Thursday, as residents were still cleaning up after a series of strong quakes in the past week, authorities said.

It followed a 4.7 temblor Monday that caused yet more trouble for Lincoln County residents whose properties sustained damage in two strong earthquakes on the weekend, The Oklahoman reported.

Lincoln County Emergency Manager Joey Wakefield said his office has received reports of 94 homes damaged in the recent earthquakes.

Thursday's quake hit 4 miles east of Meeker, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

Meeker schools have been closed since Tuesday due to damage from the Monday night shaking.

"You never know where the next one is going to be," Meeker Fire Chief Robert Ballard said. "We're bracing ourselves the best we can to protect our infrastructure."

Authorities said the cumulative effects of the earthquakes are starting to show as each temblor worsens the damage from the one before.
