Prodigy, 21, about to become doctor
NEW YORK, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- A British woman Sunday became the third victim of an October helicopter crash in New York City's East River to die, officials said.
Medical Examiner's Office spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said Harriet Nicholson, 60, a British national living in Portugal, died of "respiratory complications of near-drowning," New York AM reported.
Nicholson had been hospitalized in critical condition since the Oct. 4 accident in which the sightseeing helicopter went down shortly after taking off from the East 34th Street Heliport.
The other two who died as a result of the crash were Nicholson's daughter, Sonia Marra, and Marra's partner, Helen Tamaki. Nicholson's husband Paul and the pilot, Paul Dudley, survived.
The cause of the crash was being investigated, New York AM said.
