HIGH SPRINGS, Fla., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- A Florida man is accused of threatening to kill his neighbors after their son, who was sleepwalking, went to his house asking for help, sheriff's deputies said.

The Alachua County Sheriff's Office said Ronnie M. Hammond, 59, of High Springs was arrested early Tuesday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly pointing a shotgun at the 24-year-old sleepwalker and threatening to kill him.

The victim's father said Hammond turned the gun on him when he arrived at the house and threatened to kill him too, The Gainesville Sun reported Wednesday.

Hammond went back inside the house when deputies arrived, fired one shot into his couch and then surrendered, the sheriff's office said.
