ASHEVILLE, N.C., Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., moved to a North Carolina rehabilitation center as part of her recovery from a gunshot wound to the head, her office said.
Giffords arrived at the unidentified rehab center in Asheville, N.C., for two weeks of therapy scheduled to end Nov. 4, CNN reported.
The congresswoman's office said Giffords will be working with a therapist who treated her in Houston.
Giffords was one of 13 people injured when a gunman opened fire during congressional meet-and-greet event she was conducting in front of a Tucson grocery store in January. Six people, including a judge and a child, died.
Officials charged Jared Loughner in the shooting. He is receiving mental health treatment in a prison hospital facility and will be re-evaluated early next year to determine whether he is competent to stand trial.
