LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- A California woman serving time for killing her husband and eating his remains should be denied early release, prosecutors plan to argue at her parole hearing.

Former model Omaima Nelson was found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of her husband William E. Nelson. Her parole hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.

Orange County Senior Deputy District Attorney Randolph J. Pawloski said Nelson has a history of violence toward men and has had numerous run-ins while in prison serving her term of 27 years to life.

In 1990, Nelson was convicted of assaulting a boyfriend by tying him up and demanding money at gunpoint. Prosecutors said she has failed to use self-help programs in prison and will not admit to drug and alcohol problems.

"She should be kept in prison for the maximum denial period," Pawloski said.
