Teen charged with killing dad, stepmother

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- A North Carolina teenager has been charged as a juvenile with killing his father and stepmother.

The 15-year-old, whose name has not been released, was arrested Monday, The Charlotte Observer reported. He was charged with murder, armed robbery and attempted car theft.

The victims have been identified as Christian Hans Liewald, 43, and Cassie Meghan Buckaloo, 24. Neighbors in Pineville said they heard someone screaming and shots being fired not long after midnight Monday.

Jesse Loosemore told the newspaper he and his wife heard Buckaloo: "I think we may have heard that poor lady's last words: 'Oh, please don't do this.'"

Many neighbors described Liewald, who had been married at least three times before, as a man who carried a gun around the neighborhood and ringed his house with security cameras. Gary Hicks said Liewald shot him during an argument several years ago.

But the Rev. Mary Brown, pastor at Morningstar United Methodist Church, described the couple as "sorely missed, dearly beloved" during a memorial service Monday evening.
