WALSENBURG, Colo., Sept. 21 (UPI) -- A judge ordered a Florida woman and her brothers Tuesday to stand trial for trying to kill police officers who cornered them in Colorado.

Lee Grace Dougherty, 29, Dylan Stanley-Dougherty, 26, and Ryan Edward Dougherty, 21, appeared in court for an all-day hearing in Huerfano County, KXRM-TV, Colorado Springs, reported. The trio face charges in four states including shooting at police in Florida and Colorado, bank robbery in Georgia and car theft in Utah.

The charges in Colorado include five counts each of attempted murder and assault.

An FBI agent said investigators found a small arsenal in or near the siblings' car when they were arrested last month near Walsenburg. He listed two AK-47s, two machine pistols, two shotguns, three handguns and 2,000 rounds of ammunition and said all but one of the guns were loaded.

Other witnesses said the three were hoping to get to Mexico. Ryan and Lee Grace allegedly fled to escape legal problems in Florida.

Lawyers for the Doughertys said they fired at police during the chase because they hoped to put their cars out of action and were not trying to kill them.

They are scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
