NEW YORK, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- "Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope," by U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, will be in stores Nov. 15, her publisher said Wednesday.

The Arizona Democrat and Kelly, an astronaut who commanded one of the last space shuttle missions, worked with a co-author, Jeffrey Zaslow, a columnist for The Wall Street Journal, The Arizona Republic reported.

Publisher Scribner described the book in a news release as "a deeply personal account" of the lives of Kelly and Giffords, including their early careers, 2007 marriage, the shooting in January that almost killed the congresswoman and her struggles in rehabilitation.

Giffords was transferred to a Houston rehab center two weeks after the shooting. She returned to Tucson for Labor Day weekend, her second trip home. On Saturday, her parents had a dinner party where the guests included doctors and nurses who treated Giffords at University Medical Center, a spokesman said.
