NEW HAVEN, Conn., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- The family of a young graduate student killed in a Yale lab plans to sue the Connecticut university for damages, a lawyer says.

Joseph Tacopina, the New York lawyer representing the estate of Annie Le, said Monday he plans to file the lawsuit Wednesday, the Hartford Courant reported.

He did not give details about the suit.

Le, 24, who was working on a doctorate degree in pharmacology, disappeared in September 2009. Her body was discovered a few days later on what was to have been her wedding day in an attic in the lab building where she had been last seen.

Raymond Clark III, who worked at Yale as a lab assistant, pleaded guilty to killing Le and was sentenced in June to 44 years in prison with no possibility of parole.

Tacopina told the Courant in June that his office had investigated security in the building.
