Prodigy, 21, about to become doctor
CYPRESS, Texas, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- A 13-day-old infant in Cypress, Texas, has died after being mauled by the family's pit bull, Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators say.
The baby was alone in a room in a swinging sleeper when the more than 100-pound dog attacked. An adult heard noises from the room and came to help, but the baby was already fatally injured, KTRK-TV, Houston, reported. Three other children were in the home at the time of the incident.
The dog, which the family says had never been aggressive before, has been quarantined for the next 10 days by animal control —his fate will be determined after that. The Harris County District Attorney's Office will review the case to decide if any charges will be filed.
