ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Casey Anthony, not seen in public since a jury acquitted her of killing her daughter, reported for probation on an unrelated conviction, Florida officials said.

Officials of the Department of Corrections said Anthony reported to a probation officer Wednesday, a day after an appeals court ruled she had to report by noon Friday anywhere in Florida, Central Florida News 13 reported.

Anthony was sentenced to a year of probation for a check-fraud conviction in 2010. No other details were immediately available.

She could ask to serve the probation in another state, the news network said. The Department of Corrections indicated 6,579 people had their probation transferred in July alone.

Anthony's attorneys had argued that she was legally serving probation because she was awaiting trial in jail on separate charges involving the death of her daughter, Caylee, 2, in 2008.

A jury in Orlando acquitted Anthony July 5. She has stayed out of sight since her release from jail July 17.
