NEWARK, Ohio, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- A Newark, Ohio, man was arrested and charged with shooting at a city truck spraying for mosquitoes, police said.
David Brown, 56, is accused of shooting at a Licking County Health Department truck multiple times Wednesday afternoon, The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch reported.
The driver, Ronald Dierks, 71, drove to the Newark police department to report the incident. When he arrived at the police station, he noticed one of the bullets had grazed him.
Dierks said he did not know how many times Brown fired, but he said his truck was hit at least once.
Brown was charged with attempted murder and assault, Newark police Sgt. Scott Snow said. The attempted murder charge was brought because Brown fired into the cab of the truck.
Brown told police he was shooting at the truck because he believed the chemicals being sprayed could harm his dog, the newspaper said.
