NEW YORK, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- New York police say Pastor Zachery Tims, leader of one of the largest congregations in central Florida, was found dead in a Times Square hotel room.

Tims, 42, the senior pastor of New Destiny Christian Center in Apopka, was found in his room of the W Hotel on Broadway Friday.

"He's going to be missed," John Land, the mayor of Apopka, told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

A cause of death had not yet been determined, the New York Daily News reported Monday.

Tims and his wife Riva founded the New Destiny church, which now has a congregation of about 8,000 members, in 1996.

In 2009 Tims and his wife of 15 years divorced after the pastor admitted to an affair with a stripper, the Daily News reported.
