Army recuiter shooter pleads guilty

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., July 25 (UPI) -- Radical Muslim Abdulhakim Muhammad, changed his mind in mid-trial in Little Rock, Ark., Monday and pleaded guilty to killing one soldier and wounding another.

Muhammad was in the second week of his trial for capital murder, attempted capital murder and 10 weapons charges, all of which he pleaded guilty to,KARK-TV reported. Had he been found guilty by the jury for the June 2009 shooting death of Pvt. William Long and wounding off Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula at an Army recruiting center in Little Rock, Muhammad would have faced the death penalty.

When asked "Are you pleading guilty because you are guilty?" by the judge, Muhammad answered "Yes."

Muhammad, formerly known as Carlos Bledsoe, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder charge, and life in prison on all other counts.
