2 die when boat hits dock in S.C.

COLUMBIA, S.C., July 23 (UPI) -- Two people are dead after the boat they were on crashed into a dock on Lake Murray in South Carolina, authorities said.

State Department of Natural Resources officials said the accident occurred about 10:30 p.m. Friday, Columbia's WIS-TV reported.

The body of one victim, a 53-year-old man, was found Friday night and the body of the other, a 45-year-old woman, was recovered Saturday, the TV station said.

The Lexington County Coroner's Office identified the victims as Timothy C. Jones and Kimberly S. Bailey of Batesburg-Leesville, The (Columbia) State reported. Authorities said Jones was driving the boat and Bailey was a passenger, the newspaper said.

Authorities were investigating how the crash happened.
