Amarillo, Texas, has wave of arson

AMARILLO, Texas, July 7 (UPI) -- Four fires in Amarillo, Texas, on July Fourth appear to have been deliberately set, investigators say.

Police said a blaze Tuesday also looks like arson, KVIT-TV, Amarillo, said.

The fires on Monday included two in buildings, a grass fire and a fence fire, while the blaze the next day was a grass fire.

"We're not real sure if they're tied together at this time," said Jacob Diaz, the deputy fire marshal in Amarillo.

The Texas Panhandle has been having one of its worst wildfire seasons in years.
