Texas teacher arrested for sexting student

FORT WORTH, Texas, June 22 (UPI) -- A Fort Worth, Texas, teacher was arrested and charged with improperly "sexting" a 16-year-old student, police said.

Heather Jackson, 37, was arrested Tuesday after the parents of a 16-year-old student at Boswell High School filed a complaint, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Jackson allegedly solicited the student online and sent him inappropriate messages via Facebook and text message, the newspaper said. The boy went to police when the messages grew more and more sexual, claiming the teacher wrote him a letter threatening to sue him if he didn't delete the messages.

School officials discovered the letter on her school computer and placed her on administrative leave, the newspaper said.

The arrest warrant affidavit states Jackson told the boy she sat him in the front row "so she could excite him when she bent over in front of him."

"It is rather unfortunate that dedicated teachers like Ms. Jackson have their good names dragged through the mud and their careers ruined by false allegations," Jackson's attorney, Lex Johnston, told the newspaper.
