ORLANDO, Fla., June 21 (UPI) -- A Florida prosecutor told the judge in the Casey Anthony case an investigation is under way to determine whether her defense is mimicking another child's death.

Anthony is on trial for murder in Orlando for the 2008 death of her daughter Caylee. The toddler's remains were found in woods near her family's home.

In his opening statement, Anthony attorney Jose Baez told the court Anthony's father helped dispose of the body of her 2-year-old daughter after the child drowned in her grandparents' swimming pool.

Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick told Chief Judge Belvin Perry Tuesday while jurors were out for lunch investigators are trying to determine whether Anthony appropriated details of the case involving 15-month-old Isaiah Whalen. Anthony and Isaiah's mother were held in the Orange County jail at the same time for five days but it is unclear whether the women had any contact, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Isaiah drowned in December 2007.

In testimony Tuesday, Dr. Marcus Wise, a research scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, testified about tests conducted on items from the trunk of Anthony's car.

Earlier Tuesday, forensic botanist Dr. Jane Bock testified that Caylee's remains had probably been at the crime scene for at least "two weeks approximately" before they were discovered, but under further questioning she said it could have been longer.

Perry Monday issued warnings to the lawyers on allegations defense attorney Jose Baez violated court procedure by failing to fully disclose to state prosecutors opinions about which his experts would testify, the Sentinel reported. The warning was issued outside the jury's presence.

Prosecutor Jeff Ashton said the defense was late in turning over a report, opinions and other materials from Richard Eikelenboom, a Dutch forensic expert specializing in "touch DNA" involving small amounts of the genetic material. Perry ruled that Baez had committed substantial and willful violations of evidence-sharing rules and said Eikelenboom would not be permitted to testify -- although he said he may allow testimony from the witness at a later date, the newspaper reported.
