WASHINGTON, June 12 (UPI) -- Some new reputed lewd photos of Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., surfaced on the Internet Sunday as the Big Apple congressman's colleagues urged him to resign.

Democratic lawmakers took to the Sunday morning news shows conceding Weiner was in too much of a mess to effectively serve his constituents.

Weiner's position likely was not helped by nearly a dozen compromising shots that turned up on celebrity Web site TMZ.com.

Politico said the images had exercise equipment in the background, which TMZ indicated came from a Capitol Hill gym reserved for House members.

Weiner said Saturday he would check himself into a rehab facility to get himself on the right track.
