ORLANDO, Fla., June 9 (UPI) -- Testimony in the Florida trial of Casey Anthony ended early Thursday when Anthony appeared sick during detailed testimony about the remains of her daughter.
Chief Judge Belvin Perry ended the day's session early after the defendant became emotional as the jury heard testimony about the condition of the remains of Caylee Marie, the 2-year-old Anthony is accused of killing, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported.
"Miss Anthony is ill," Perry announced. "Neither the state nor the defense have any comments."
Anthony, 25, is charged with killing her daughter in 2008. The child's remains were found on Dec. 11 that year.
Testimony in the Thursday session of the first-degree murder trial centered on the remains of Anthony's daughter discovered in a garbage bag in woods near her home.
Judge Perry warned the jury it would see graphic pictures during testimony by staff of the District 9 Medical Examiner's Office.
He also told courtroom observers that if they believed they couldn't handle seeing photographs of the remains, they should leave rather than disrupt the proceedings.
"If you cannot control your emotions, this will be a good time to exit," Perry said.
Casey Anthony remained silent, her eyes shut and head pointed downward during testimony about the remains until she became emotional and Perry halted the day's proceedings, the Sentinel reported.
