WASHINGTON, June 6 (UPI) -- Two prominent U.S. House Democrats Monday called for an ethics investigation into Rep. Anthony Weiner's confessed online sexual impropriety.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Rep. Steve Israel, D-N.Y., chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, made their statements after the Democratic New York congressman's news conference where he apologized for misleading the press and public about his trail of explicit Twitter photographs, the Washington publication Politico reported.
